In June the price of Bitcoin followed the trend form May and continued to move in the downward trajectory. At the beginning of the month, the price was $7,535. It continued to fall, even reaching the lowest value in this year at $5,909 on 29th June ended at $6,381, which is a 15,3% fall since the beginning of the month.
Unlike the price downward trajectory, the number of new machines continued to grow.
Period Start: 3177, Period End: 3399
Opened: 282, Closed: 60, Net Growth: +222(+7.0%)
Unlike the prices that fluctuate since beginning of year, the number of new machines continues to follow a steady increase. This trend continues in June.
The growth rate is decreasing since March 2018:
|Month||ATM installation growth per month
This can be explained with the fact that since order of machine, you need to wait several months to receive it from manufacturer, and then also organize and find location for installation. The highest growth more than 10% per month was in March 2018, since then the speed of installations rolled back to roughly 7% per month. The highest interest on the market was December 2017, when the price skyrocketed, and many new entrepreneurs were entering the market by ordering new units, which they got only couple months later.
Change by Manufacturers
|Genesis Coin||1093||1164||+71 (6.5%)|
|General Bytes||879||939||+60 (6.8%)|
|Orderbob ATM||35||48||+13 (37.1%)|
|Bitcoin D.A.V.E.||4||7||+3 (75%)|
As usual, Genesis Coin with 71 (6.5% increase) and General Bytes with 60 (6.8% increase) new installations continue to be the two manufacturers with most installations this month. Lamassu is at position #3, while has lower number of installations (+30), company leads with relative growth rate of 8.5%.
It is worth to mention company Bytefederal, who was an operator of bitcoin machines since November 2016. The company started operations in Florida and later expanded to Georgia and Texas. Recently started producing own units and installing at various locations. This confirms one of the trends we mentioned before, when operator’s business grows to a particular threshold, it makes economically viable to move to own production of bitcoin ATMs.
