This May the price of Bitcoin encountered an overall decline. After April’s period of rising ended, this month started with Bitcoin value at $9,075. After a growth in first five days, the price started to fall, accompanied by a few bumps in the middle of the month. May ended with a Bitcoin price of $7,491 which comes to a 17,5% fall since the beginning of the month.

Unlike the price downward trajectory, the number of new machines continues to grow.

At the top of the Manufacturers list the situation is the same as in April. General Bytes is on top with 64 new machines (7.9% increase), followed closely by Genesis Coin with 61 new installations (6% increase). BitAccess with 44 (26.2% increase) and Lamassu with 18 (5.3% increase) new machines remained on third and fourth place respectively as in April. A new company on top of list is RusBit. A Russian based manufacturer, whose machines were installed at 8 new places (28.6% increase), which earned them a sixth place on this list in the past month.
Unlike April in May there were some reductions in the number of machines of particular producers. LocalBitcoins and zzBit reduced their numbers by 1 machine while operator(-s) of BBFPro removed 2 machines which made for 12.5% decrease.

Operators who increased the number of machines by 3 or more over the past month:
CoinCloud got back to the first place on this list with 43 new machines (30.1% increase) in May. Canadian company LocalCoin made an increase since last month with 13 new installations (21.3% increase). Black Frog Blockchain Ventures LLC made its way to the list this month. Operator from Rockville, USA installed 12 new machines (42.9% increase). An aspiring European Operator Avatar Technology GmbH continued to steadily increase the number of machines. This May they added 12 new machines (50% increase)

As usual, United States and Canada dominate in bitcoin ATM installations every month. In May the USA had net growth of 119 machines (6.8% increase) while Canada added 36 new machines (8% increase). United Kingdom and Austria remain dominant in Europe with 21 (18.6% increase) and 18 (11.3% increase) installations, respectively. Russia closes top 5 country list with 6 new machines (13.6% increase) installed since last month.
It is great to mention that in May was first installation of bitcoin ATM in Kenya. Ireland that had in the past bitcoin machines already, but all were removed later on, got back one machine in May as well.

Altcoin support saw the following increases over the past two months:
This May, the percentage of cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin that one can transact at the ATMs went over 50% (50.8%). As opposed tho past months, in May Litecoin was the coin that was added to the most machines after Bitcoin. It was added at 182 ATMs (13.58% increase) and remains to be the second most supported coin with 1522 machines in total. Ether follows with 922 machines at the end of the month (146 new machines). Bitcoin Cash adoption among operators increased by only 71 machines (15.7%).
Summary
In May prices experienced a fall which continues the overall fluctuation. The market continues to be dominated by two manufacturers General Bytes chasing Genesis Coin when it comes to the number of new machines added. Operators maintain a steady flow of installations that was around 8 per day this month. Following the trend of initial installations, Kenya installed their first machine in May. During the month support for coins other than Bitcoin overreached 50%. Litecoin was the coin added in the largest number of machines this month.
